After having our Carnival postponed due to wet weather, the sun was finally shining as our competitors made their way down to Thomas Acres to complete in the Competitors only Cross Country. Many of our student had completed the course in 2018, hence only a short walk of the course was required to acquaint our year 7 competitors to the course.
The conditions on the day were an optimum 23 degrees at the students began their run. There were some great runs from our new year 7 recruits, Paul Salmond, Bridget Shearer, Darcy Wilson and Indyanna Cotton gave their respective Houses vital points. Whilst some of our older students set a fast pace throughout the morning.
The 4 Houses were fairly well represented across all Age Groups, but certain Year Groups were rather light on from certain Houses. Participation were a key factor in the overall House points with many point going unclaimed due to lack of female competitors
Our HOUSE CUP leaders Conolly now have a commanding lead as we head into the Athletics carnival
Special thank you to all of my staff and student helpers on the day.
Miss Leach, Mr Williamson, Mrs Pellegrino, Mr Bodeker and Mr McGrath.
